The Need For Long Term Care

Millions of Americans are living with a disability due to a traumatic brain injury. Furthermore, hundreds of thousands suffer from spinal cord injuries, and many other people suffer from other injuries and medical conditions that require long term care. In many cases, their options would be long term hospitalization or an assisted living home that offers less intensive care. At CLHF Homes, we want to offer a third option: one of our long term rehabilitative care centers.

We understand that your loved one is going through intense changes due to their condition, affecting their ability to respond to daily living requirements. As a result, they require more support and care daily. It is not possible for you or your family members to provide that level of support in many cases, so a residential care home is an excellent option. It’s critical to consider and understand the private insurance, public benefits, and entitlements available to your loved one.

Long Term Care Payment

Today, there are many options available to those who are suffering from long term medical conditions. We accept a range of payment options, including:

Medical Assistance

Medical assistance, better known as Medicaid, is one of these options. Individuals requiring Medicaid must have their doctor complete a form detailing the need for medical services. A member of the Department for Human Services will then review the form and determine if it is required. A person trying to use this form of long-term care payment must be a United States citizen, a California resident, and have a valid social security number. They should also have limited resources and resources.

Managed Services

We also provide managed care payments, which is a fee-for-service model that some states offer under Medicaid. With this model, California pays our team directly for each service we provide to your loved one. With the help of a managed care plan, we receive payment from the state for each person enrolled under this model. We receive only the payment that the managed care plan’s contract with California includes.

Workers Comp

If your loved one was injured on the job or unable to work due to their injury, they might be available for workers comp. To receive these benefits, the person may be either permanently partially disabled or permanently totally disabled. A person needing workers comp may be suffering from a range of injuries, including:

  • Traumatic brain injury
  • Spinal cord injuries
  • Paralysis
  • Loss of sight
  • Loss of one or more limbs

Commercial Insurance

Depending on several factors, your insurance company may pay for some of your loved ones’ care. In such cases, you may need to file either insurance or legal claims, particularly if a fall, motor vehicle collision, or work-related injuries caused the injury. An experienced lawyer will be able to tell you how to get the best benefits for you.

Other Long Term Care Payment Options

We also accept other long-term care payment options, including HMO ( health maintenance organization) payments. HMOs tend to offer lower costs and a local healthcare provider based on your needs. You can contact your HMO representative to get answers about how to best utilize their services.
